Summer 2026: Pizza, Seafood and Coastal Eats

As winter loosens its grip and the East Lothian coastline begins to warm up, our favourite food trucks are rolling back into action. From wood-fired pizzas served beside the waves to buttery lobster rolls eaten straight off the sand, there’s no better way to kick off the season than with great street food and sea air. Here’s our pick of the best food trucks in East Lothian to look out for this spring and summer – each one offering something unique, and all perfectly placed for a day by the coast.

1. The Big Blu Pizza (various East Lothian spots)

Who They Are: A local favourite serving wood-fired, hand-stretched pizzas from their iconic blue truck – often found at markets, festivals, and coastal villages throughout East Lothian. During summer you can find them at Whitekirk Hill on a Friday night – a perfect start to the weekend.

Our must try item: The Classic Margherita with local mozzarella and basil oil drizzle – simplicity that shows off the quality.

Chef’s Recommendation: Chorizo Crumble

2. Nauti Dunbar (Dunbar Harbour)

Who They Are: A seafood-focused truck serving fresh, sustainable catches right beside the sea. Expect lobster, crab, and inventive daily specials. The truck sits beside Dunbar Harbour and has outside seating or alternatively you can sit inside Dunbar Battery with fantastic views across the North Sea.

Our must try item: Salt & Pepper Squid with Garlic Aioli – crisp, fresh, and best enjoyed with a view of the boats.

Chef’s Recommendation:

3.  Alandas Scottish Seafood Grill (Longniddry Bents)

Our must try item: Grilled garlic butter and chilli prawns with a side of chips… outstanding.

4. The Lobster Shack (North Berwick Harbour)

Who They Are: One of East Lothian’s icons – serving locally landed lobster, crab, and seafood platters with unbeatable views. Positioned right on the harbour there’s the option to sit in or find a spot to nearby to perch and look out over the sea.

Our must try item: Lobster Roll with Garlic Butter and Lemon Mayo – huge fan of this one.

Final Word

As the days stretch longer and it starts to feel a bit more like summer, East Lothian’s food trucks are once again proving that some of the region’s best food doesn’t come from a restaurant – it rolls up beside the beach. Whether you’re planning a sunny day out, a coastal walk, or just need an excuse to have a great coffee or a lobster roll, these trucks should be top of your list this summer.
